Super cute vintage collection of plastic?celluloid frames. All highly decorative .
One frame is a beautiful eggshell blue – green with gold gilding. Instant wall decor. Each frame has a lattice backing in plastic. 3 have glass fronts.
1 has the glass missing. The small frame has a stand. The 2 oblong ones are stamped registered designs, Made in Hong Kong.
A beautiful large Italian frame with flourishes, scrolling and gold gilding.
Someone has painted it with shades of mauve, yellow and aqua. It could be stripped back to show the gold gilding again. Reads “Made Italy”.
I only have the front of the frame, no backing.
Empty frames can add a touch of shabby chic glamour anywhere in your home or a group them in one colour.
All frames can be purchased from my shop Nostalgi with world-wide shipping to your door.
I loved making this collage using my collections of found papers and fabric.
I started off with an old school exercise book cover from the 1930’s. It was full of hand drawn maps. I added stitching to the map and some found vintage graph papers, aged canvas and a did a little hand drawing on tissue
The paper with one of the maps of Queensland Australia was very delicate, so I glued it down very carefully with archival gel medium. It’s a bit wrinkled but I don’t mind.
I added some fabric scrap from a vintage tablecloth depicting Australian wildflowers
Finally, I created little drawings all over the entire collage with pencils and ink pens
Once again I worked in layers
Starting with a base layer of distress inks, paint swatch stickers and hand painted papers, I then added vinyl tape and letters
Finally, more paint swatches with vintage stamps, stencils and ink
Update! I took off the “I love Paris tape” as it just didn’t work for me.
This collage is on a piece of water colour paper aged the with Parisian essence, then baked in the oven.
A piece of vintage French paper old blue ticket is taped down with tartan scotch tape Ive had since the ’70s.
A cardboard typo tag, washi tape, string and ink.
